Freshly crushed grains contain all the vital nutrients in the whole grain and thus form the basis of a healthy, modern diet.<\/p>\n<p>The pressing process gently breaks down the grain, while the valuable germ oils, carriers of vital nutrients and enzymes, remain intact. Flake-based treats are chewed more thoroughly than flour products and stimulate intestinal peristalsis much more than milled grain. Flakes are therefore also called the \u201ctoothbrush of the intestine\u201d. The texture of the flakes creates a pleasant chewing sensation and gives them a distinctive flavour.<\/p>\n<p>The appearance of the wood is unique to each press. Some pieces of wood have stronger colours and grain patterns, while others are less pronounced. The wood used comes from local, certified sustainable forests. Specially manufactured fluted stainless steel nuts are used as locking screws, giving the grain press additional elegance.
