Local apple juice

We have collected apples with Gillberga Utvecklings Grupp for Gillberga Must every year from 2013 and there was a lot of demand for the must. It’s gratifying and is actually one of the basic ideas for us to use all these apples in the area that would otherwise be wasted.

We have planted more than 150 apple trees in 2015 and have started pressing fruit on the farm in 2017 so everyone can come and hand in their apples. We will also continue to pick apples from trees in the surroundings and produce juice, but we do the process on our farm now.

Our apple juice consists 100% of pressed fine local apples. Low pasteurized, no additives or sugar. It feels on the taste. That’s why we press!

The pressing opens

The muster usually presses in August and October. Submit apples on Saturdays and Sundays or call to schedule other days. See current opening hours on website (closed on market days, see news).

From August 24, this year’s must is available in bottles and 3 liter packages to pick up in our farm shop or to order via the Reko ring.

There are various additional flavors – Aronia, Sloan and Blackcurrant.

You can come to us with your apples in the autumn!

We mash your apples and then pasteurize and pour into 3 liters of packaging. Because you do not have to wait to book an appointment via email or call.

You can submit autumn and winter apples that are not rotten and have the whole skin. Stains and dots on apples are no problem as well as whole fall fruits. Even light brown fall injuries work. Dark, badly damaged, moldy or rotten apples are removed. Also, be careful not to pick fall fruit on land where animals graze.

To avoid!
Overripe apples become floury. We do not mash floury apples as they give bad must and clog the press cloth. An overripe apple is soft and does not crack when you bite into it.

You can not must fall fruit from horse, cow or sheep pastures as these may contain coliform bacteria. You can also not must apples that have become dark brown, moldy or have begun to rot as they develop the poison patulin.

We pay you €4/kg for your apples.

We accept all varieties but not if they are too soft.

To make 100% must of your apples submit at least 75 kg (about 5 banana boxes). Otherwise it is possible to mix with other varieties we have in stock.

Each 6 kg of apple yields 1 package of 3 liters of must. If you hand in 33 kg or more, you will receive one package free of charge.
